Early summer 2020: Summer veg starting to produce… kind of

Even though it is January 21 I am still calling it early summer because we have had too cold a time of it. A cold westerly has been alternating with an even colder easterly combined with really cold nights which has meant the poor tender  little summer plants have been sluggish to produce. Finally, this last weekend   it has warmed up and the tiny zucchini that have been sitting there unchanging for three weeks suddenly grew bigger. The runner beans are the only plant that hasn’t seemed to mind the weather (but they are a cold climate bean) and the rest of this collection are spring/winter veg . But whatever, it’s a meal. I made a sweet and sour fresh veg and wild pork stirfry.
